I hope I can answer this question as precisely and accurately as possible – as this question, or topic, is pretty much as big as humanity itself. As for me, I feel like architecture is the personal basic need of the human kind to have a shelter, and we have found out that throughout architecture we can get so much more – rather if its expression, message, a new way of thinking, inspiration, art.

Architecture consists many aspects within. Some people may think it is only about solid structures, about four walls that need to protect you and that is it.

But, actually, architecture aspecֲts depth is very wide ! Architects are needed to think on so many other things rather than just this four walls – about materials, surrounding, history, exterior, interior, the kind of people who will live in it/ be in it and so many more.

Architecture, unlike other kinds of art, need to actually serve the people who are going to use it (most of the time). The techniques and methods used in architecture are playing a big part, they can determine they way the object will look like, the time and money one will invest to build it, and so on.

In addition, as we speak about buildings and different kinds of constructions, we need to talk also about the necessity it answers. What was the cause this building was planned and designed as the way it is ? Is it still doing its part as it was aimed to be ? And if not, what went wrong ? What has changed ?

to sum up, I think architecture is a very exciting topic that, with our modern world, is changing and developing consistently. Also, I would like to say, in a personal note, that I do think architecture needs, firstly, to serve the people and cause of who and why we are building what we are building. I believe in functionality and accuracy. I love art, and I do truly think these two “contrarios” (art and functionally) can work together perfectly.
